Elevating Your Meetings with AI: Why the Human Touch Still Matters
In the latest episode of The Financial Wholesaler Podcast, Mitch Santala, CEO of Executive Scheduling Associates, sat down with IKON Coaching founder Kirk Wayman to explore how AI can make meetings smarter—without losing the human touch.
Mitch kicked things off by referencing a quirky old favorite from his bookshelf, How to Survive a Robot Uprising. He and Kirk shared a laugh over the title (and a few Terminator nods), but quickly got serious when Kirk pointed out our “inability to imagine the world we’re about to live in.”
That idea hits close to home. The future is coming fast, and AI is reshaping how we work, connect, and think. As Kirk put it, “If you can’t imagine something, it doesn’t exist for you.”
So, how can financial wholesalers start imagining what’s next—and use AI to actually improve meetings and client experiences?
Kirk’s advice might surprise you: the best way to use AI is to be more human.
It sounds counterintuitive, but here’s the thing—AI learns you. The more you use it, the more it picks up your tone, your writing style, your way of organizing. Tools like ChatGPT, Claude.ai, and Google Gemini become even more effective when you feed them context.
Kirk suggests keeping a “you file”—a collection of things like your writing samples, articles about you, conversation transcripts, emails, job descriptions, social posts, even sales reports and bios.
Drop those into your AI tool, and you’ll start building a smart assistant that thinks and works like you—helping you show up sharper, more prepared, and impossible to forget.
